We believe that by putting the Free Prayer Boxes into places in our cities and by praying for people’s requests, God will answer our prayers and bring the people closer to Him by His Holy Spirit . Our ultimate goal is to see people brought to salvation through Jesus Christ. We believe in prayer!
Sign out one or two boxes. Pray about which businesses or industries to approach. Take one box to the person in charge. Take the box and enter the target location prayerfully and come to the point with your wording well in mind. Don't feel obligated to persuade, just let the Holy Spirit lead. Example: “Hello, my name is ________. I’m working with a group of Christians and _______(the name of the sponsoring organization). We want to pray regularly for your business, your employees and your customers. Will you allow me to place this box in plain view for anyone who may want specific prayer? I will pray for your business daily and come and get the prayer requests at least once a week. “ If the party declines, thank them anyway. When you have placed the box, call your prayer boxing coach and tell him/her where it is.
Pray every day for the business. Make sure you take out the requests at least once a week. When you begin getting prayer requests, you may number them for you own reference as to how many people you have prayed for. I keep a rubber band around mine and pray over each one daily. If I call the party, I write more information on the back. Pray for each one as long as you feel the request requires. If you get a request that requires more serious prayer, call your prayer boxing coach or Pastor.
On the request form is a place for the people to request a phone call. When you call, give them only your first name and don’t give them your phone number. Your job is to pray with them, not to be the answer to the prayer. If the person wants to talk to a Pastor, wants a visit, or needs physical help (money, food, assistance of some other kind) , call your Pastor and ask for help in ministering to this person. Never meet with a person alone!
Look around the business to see if there would be another, more visible location and ask the owner if you can move it. In any case, do not remove the box. Just its presence there and your praying for the business makes a difference. You may also wish to get another box and have two locations to pray for.
